8TH ANNUAL DREAM DINNER
Phoenix, AZ – February 1, 2016 - The Arizona Dream Builder Foundation (ADBF) will host its 8th Annual Dream Dinner on April 30, 2016 at the Camby Hotel (formerly the Ritz Carlton Hotel Phoenix). In support of young scholars who are unwavering in their commitment to social justice, fairness, and integrity, the annual Dream Dinner will celebrate their efforts to change the faces of the communities in which they live and attend school through their leadership.
The 2015-16 Dream Scholars will be presented at the Arizona Dream Dinner. Dream Scholars will be selected for their academic achievements and outstanding contributions to their Arizona communities. Dream Scholarship recipients are also awarded paid Dream Internships for employment during the summer of 2016.
The annual Dream Dinner is the ADBF’s major fundraiser for college scholarships and signature celebration for Dream Scholarship recipients. Sponsorship is available at various levels: Freedom- $25,000; Equality- $10,000; Justice- $5,000; Table sponsorship- $1,500; and Visionary donor - $500. The Arizona Dream Builder Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was established to provide educational and workforce readiness opportunities to youth in Arizona for the purpose of cultivating life-long leaders for social justice who, through their actions, will strengthen their community and our state while building a culture of service.
Since its inception in 2008 over 1500 High School seniors have applied to the Dream Scholar program and 24 Dream Scholars have received a four year scholarship award, totaling $96,000 in scholarship funds. In 2009, Arizona Dream Builder Foundation implemented the Dream Intern program, which provides 8-week paid Internships to select Arizona High School graduates. As of June 2015, 50 Dream Interns have been placed with 8 companies, accounting for over 16000 hours of work skills development and over $125,000 earned in wages by its students.
